Ruma's Fruit goes Hollywood!

It's Official...Hollywood has come calling. Recently, we were asked to be in a movie filming in Burlington, Ma at the Burlington Mall. The movie is called Mall Cop and it is in production now, and will be released in January 2009. Adam Sandler is producing the flick about a Mall Cop that has to foil the attempts of some would-be robbers. Kevin James of King of Queens wrote the script with Nick Bakay. The name Mall Cop may not end up being the final name as the IMBD title is now listed as "Untitled Kevin James Comedy".

Anyway...We received a phone call about a month ago asking if we would like to supply fruit and gift baskets for the set at the Burlington Mall. Of course, we said YES! So we supplied some of our favorite gift baskets. We gave them our Dog Gift Baskets, Fruit Baskets, and alot more. Since the movie crew needed to have 3 sets of each basket and wanted to keep them for a month or so for the filming being done at the Burlington Mall, we suggested using fake fruit and fake bottles of wine. IMDB is constantly updating the cast list and it should be a great movie. Adam Sandler and Kevin James were hysterical in that movie "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry".

Even if the baskets are not even shown, I am planning the premiere. Maybe we can rent Showcase Cinemas in Revere, MA and invite all our favorite customers, vendors, etc. At least the office staff will show up. Especially if some of us are in the movie as extras. A bunch of us signed up to be extras as mall customers. Our gift baskets will be featured as part of the mall kiosks in the middle of the mall. We won't know how prominent the gourmet baskets will be shown until the release date in January of 2009, but we are hopeful. Maybe Kevin James will throw a fruit basket at one of the robbers or vice versa. "Crossing my figures" Ahhhh... Product Placement.
